Jonek spent two years in one of the Polish shelters. 1,5 years suffered from such terrible wounds on his  nose and around the eyes ... eaten right out by the disease, showingwounds to the "living flesh." The shelter did it could. Jonek got some antibiotics and then, for a time it was getting a little better, the wounds dried a bit. Unfortunately, after a short time, there was a deterioration. We received a call for help from one of the volunteers of the shelter. We reacted immediately. On May 5 Jonek was taken to a clinic in Wroclaw. The same clinic where Kuba was treated. The doctor, who is a specialist in immunology and dermatology, immediately put the correct diagnosis, which later was confirmed by dermatohistopatological analysis. Jonek has a severe case of autoimmune disease called pemphigus (it mean that he is allergic to his own skin and his own immune system fights and destroys his own body). The antibiogram showed secondary infection with Staphylococcus.

But that's not all. Jonek has dyspnea (gets tired easily). One can not auscultate his heart because  of a the strong suppression. X-ray showed features of pulmonary edema (within the lung tissue density of a tissue is observed - it may be a problem with the lymph nodes. The raised trachea in the heart area shows an enlarged atrium of the heart. Jonek is also constipated so he is on  a special diet. He also has bladder problems (some traces of blood in the urine). The analysis showed problems with his prostate, kidney, liver and spleen cancer. So much of diagnosis. He has so complex health problems, but has a huge will to live. He wagged his tail even when he was suffering because of open wounds.

He responded very well to drugs against pemphigus and wounds dried nicely. It brought him a great relief. Look at his smiling face on the pictures. He is friendly and cheerful, always eager to play and to go for a walk. He is very smart, understands what people tell him and reacts to the commends . He is a great gourmand, and immediately gives the paw when he sees a treat. How long will the treatment last? We do not know: pemphigus, staphylococcus, heart and lungs, bladder, liver, prostate, spleen, kidneys ..... The treatment will certainly be long. Pemphigus can not be cured. You can only effectively remove its effects (wounds) but he will have to be on medication for life. Jonek’s health situation makes it very difficult to find him a new home. It is generally unlikely that someone in Poland, adopts a dog, knowing that he will have to  be under constant medical care to the end of his life.
